a drawing too large to fit on your scanner, tile it, reassemble it in
Scan2CAD

raster images into Scan2CAD from other applications
- Color
palette manipulation features
- Convert
color raster images to color DXF

What's
new in Scan2CAD Pro v6:
- Grayscale and Color support -
Supports 24, 8, 4, and 1 bit (2 color or Black & White) color
images.
- "Color Aware"
throughout - Makes intelligent use of color in both its raster and
vector editing. SnapTidy tools can be restricted to work with
one vector color only.
- TWAIN (Acquire) support - All
scanning, any size, can be done from inside Scan2CAD Pro where the
scanner is a TWAIN compliant device.
- Tiling - Large drawings can be
acquired as "tiles" using desktop scanners. Tiles can
be moved, merged and assembled within Scan2CAD Pro. An assembled
image can be vectorized and saved to size and scale of paper original.
- Raster files can be imported in three
different ways:
- By Load (as before)
- By Acquire (scanning inside Scan2CAD
Pro)
- By Cut & Paste from other
applications
- JPEG and GIF raster files now
supported (as well as PCX, BMP, IMG and TIF)
- Interface - User friendly
Tooltips on icons. New Graphic cursor changes to reflect the
action the user is doing.
- Gap Jumping - This will join
broken lines which travel in the same direction.
- Thicken Pixel - This will fill
holed or dithered lines by filling them with the appropriate color
pixels.
- Rubber-sheeting - This allows the
user to warp or stretch an image in a defined direction around control
points.
- Crop - This saves only the image
within a user-defined rectangle, erasing everything outside the
rectangle.
- TrueType font support
- And much more!
System Requirements
The system requirements for Scan2CAD are a Pentium PC running Windows '95,
'98, ME, NT or 2000. Users are advised to do this on a reasonably fast PC. For
example, it takes about 40 minutes to train a neural network to recognize
68 characters (a-z, A-Z, 0-9) using a training set containing three examples
of each character (i.e.. 204 examples) on a 200MHz Pentium PC.
