Dear Tom, Welcome, and thank you for using CADVANCE! If you are referring to paper drawings, there is a product called Scan2CAD that will take a scanned image and convert the raster image to vector format which you could then bring into CADVANCE for editing. Go to the Scan2CAD page to download a demo and give it a try! Or contact me with any other questions or for more information. Shari |

Yes, the new version of CADVANCE or CADVANCE LiTe will be able to open drawing files created in v6.5, and there shouldn't be any problems with your symbols. I've received your direct email earlier and will be sending you your evaluation CD shortly. Please let me know if I may be of further assistance. Shari |

Krebs Version: 99.5 Dear Sirs, We had a user group mtg in St.Paul, Mn last night(3/29/00). At the mtg I asked about associative dimensioning and desided to use it. But when I started using it I remembered why I don't use it. Commercial dimensioning is from surface of wall to surface of wall, which assoc dim works fine, but residential dimensioning is from outside of exterior of house walls to center line of interior house walls, which assoc dim does not do, I would like to use this Cadvance opt, but need you to allow me to doo the following. Can you let me know if it is possible. 1. I would like to be able to adjust/move dimension lines after the line has been layed out, without having to redimension my plans. 2. I would like to be able to move the text, not edit the text, just be able to move text. 3. I would like to place a dimension point somewhere other than a vertex. such as centerline of walls. To accomplish this I offset the dimension point from a line. Thank you, Richard Krebs |

Hamo Dear Chadd CADVANCE cannot print to a printer with a pathname longer than 32 characters. I can't tell for sure the length of yours. I'll research this further. Todd Hamo F I T, Inc. |

Keith VersionNumber: 6.5 I want to plan an addition to my home using CADVANCE. I then want to convert the design to a blueprint so I can get a building permit. Basic Question: 1. Can I use CADVANCE to design an addition and eventually create blue prints? 2. If so, is there some instructional material/tutorial that describes the process from start to finish? Thanks, Keith |
